Our house is looking more and more like a home. It has been crazy non stop action, we have a great ward in which Emily is now working with the Sunbeams and I am the Young Mens Pres. which there is currently one young man. We are both excited to be where we are. The kids have started school and they are doing very well, much better than last year. Emily is looking into going to school. I have two classes left in which I will pick back up in January. I can not wait to be done with that. Then the last big project that I have taken on is a 90 YJ Jeep. I have been planning and preparing for the fix up. I am excited for this project.<br /><br />Well this is quick up date life is still not back to normal but it is getting there. Oh it snowed today and we are excited for that, now ask us in two months how we feel about the snow but for now we are excited.<br /><br />Take care all and I will get some pictures posted<br /><br />Ramosderekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-75111254830282971222010-07-04T15:35:00.003-05:002010-07-04T15:43:58.325-05:00Return from UtahEmily and I had the opportunity to drive to Utah in preperation for our move there. We accomplished eveything on our to do list in two days. We got there Monday morning, after spending lots of money on new tires because of a flat we got on the way, and we walked into the base housing and they offered a place for us and we signed for it. It was an amazing experience to happen. The next day we got the kids registered for school and did a few other things then we were done. What we thought would take four or maybe five days we got done in two. It was great.<br /><br />So we spent the next day going to the Salt Lake Temple and then going to see Dave and his family. That was a great day also.<br /><br />After that we decided to leave early, even though we did not want to leave because the weather was so nice, we drove through Oklahoma and made a pit stop in Tulsa, where I served my misson. We only stayed a few hours, long enough to stop and have a refreshing glass of Root Beer from Webers and to drive in one of my areas. It was nice.<br /><br />Now we are home and now comes the dreadful task of packing and moving. We will leave in the middle of August.derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-47782628073550865522010-06-03T21:37:00.002-05:002010-06-03T21:43:58.551-05:00Pineapple Jam??We tried it but so far it has not worked so well. Both batches the Pineapple didn't turn into turn into jam, just a liquid. The first time we tried it said to cook until it turned into a thick jel and I sat there and stired it for about 20 min while boiling hot lava molton pineapple syryp splattered onto my feet. Didn't turn into jam. the next day we tried to add pectin, what one would use for Strawberry or Peach jam. That didn't work either so for now we will abandon the hope of Pineapple jam but regroup and research. But one day we will make Pineapple jam.<br /><br />On another note, things are moving ahead in the move process. We have been going through rooms and cleaning house and getting rid of things were done taking with us. We are excited for the new adventure that is coming up.<br /><br />Up next Peach Jam.......derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-27677361437141539892010-04-25T21:09:00.002-05:002010-04-25T21:15:39.641-05:00We're going to UtahWell the time has come for us to move. We recieved the orders that we are going to move to Hill AFB in Utah. We leave around the middle of August. <br /><br />We are sad to close this chapter of our lives; however, we are excited to open a new chapter.<br /><br />We will miss all our friends here in San Antonio. Bitter sweet. For some, this is nothing new to the military life, but for us this is our first move.<br /><br />Thanks to all who made this assignment great. It is true there are many things I wont miss such as the humidity, bugs and fake Christmas trees; however, there are many things in which we will miss, mainly the people.<br /><br />To be continued........<br /><br />P.S.<br />it is never final until I sign in at Hill.derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-3428872029779319662010-03-28T12:17:00.008-05:002010-03-28T12:36:37.759-05:00Here are some pics of Puerto Rico<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_UNZZLRB5Li23AVdr9TAWgKOA-NGZDC2W2tLehzk3xpjIONoK9rgqI4amBY0hH_WVggXb1xvd_xV-mT4N1RzlnlOXUwVxrUQO8KzW2NrEmqIIC_64buYk7FsUp99t-YCV5KDJ3hRqn1-I/s1600/DSC04321.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 300px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453738271797084770" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_UNZZLRB5Li23AVdr9TAWgKOA-NGZDC2W2tLehzk3xpjIONoK9rgqI4amBY0hH_WVggXb1xvd_xV-mT4N1RzlnlOXUwVxrUQO8KzW2NrEmqIIC_64buYk7FsUp99t-YCV5KDJ3hRqn1-I/s400/DSC04321.JPG" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3FOybbQZkQQPuS-wTLU_0aDCx_xbiMhnqu-2bvZBGzeq9IvqIQ7AcosbQ8KeJUbYI9ARL7lyB1tIctegWMtr-WlWAZ0AjqPzUdOrTaqJy74YC6Ed5uSzsrAvC0u8dVtCJjycttUeGUphF/s1600/DSC04392.JPG">This was a great trip to Puerto Rico</a></div><div> </div><div>This was in Old San Juan, the streets are paved in colored brick and has been preserved with the old Spaniard touch.<img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 400px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453737747214368434" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3FOybbQZkQQPuS-wTLU_0aDCx_xbiMhnqu-2bvZBGzeq9IvqIQ7AcosbQ8KeJUbYI9ARL7lyB1tIctegWMtr-WlWAZ0AjqPzUdOrTaqJy74YC6Ed5uSzsrAvC0u8dVtCJjycttUeGUphF/s400/DSC04392.JPG" />This was in the city of Ponce, there is an old fire house that they have turned into a musem.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn3xmPv2GhDtO_VNBbrrUcgWqD_wA_BwgpIR5Ney6Nu8XqnHTN8reWTTspcVxn3YAiMTXe9bFMKdWGzG_Szi3xzqNUpxPQh15ukCecRMp08aS32cGltJCwr8E3Z6VDbnAKcMM3eEtPMT69/s1600/DSC04198.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: left; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453737067611488690" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhn3xmPv2GhDtO_VNBbrrUcgWqD_wA_BwgpIR5Ney6Nu8XqnHTN8reWTTspcVxn3YAiMTXe9bFMKdWGzG_Szi3xzqNUpxPQh15ukCecRMp08aS32cGltJCwr8E3Z6VDbnAKcMM3eEtPMT69/s400/DSC04198.JPG" /></a><br />My Grandfather, my Dad, Me, and Marcus.</div><div> </div><div>We were visiting my Grandmothers side of the family. </div><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglaE3zLjHv8OMwZf0Tb6-4KQJKl_o-ZwKLtIqg1AAE4ufCLcwNO8DiggqMlSnFAaawmswJh4gKhThI1XTYrc3-9j2Oc5JklLwg7C9-UfQWhIqZcgg8UtUF65zJhXWCOMWD6gqN4RBJWGcS/s1600/DSC04174.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 400px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 300px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5453736660632265538" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglaE3zLjHv8OMwZf0Tb6-4KQJKl_o-ZwKLtIqg1AAE4ufCLcwNO8DiggqMlSnFAaawmswJh4gKhThI1XTYrc3-9j2Oc5JklLwg7C9-UfQWhIqZcgg8UtUF65zJhXWCOMWD6gqN4RBJWGcS/s400/DSC04174.JPG" /></a><br /><br /><br />This is on the northwest corner of Pueto Rico. The weather was great, 80's and little humidity and great rain showers, which we don't get a lot of here in Texas, so that was nice to see. The food was great, especially the bread from the bakery, something that is just not the same here. It was nice to see the family both my parents and sister and her family; it was also nice to see my Grandparents and Aunts and Uncle and cousin and all the extended family. Folks I haven't seen in a long time. Marcus and Annabella did great with meeting all the family. For those who don't know Annabella is shy as all get out and it is not Marcus' favorite thing, and in Puerto Rico, or at least my family, they are very touchy feely with hugs and kisses, somthing my kids are not used to here in the States. They did well, especially Marcus it was funny because when it was time to meet someone new, he knew exactly what he was supposed to do. He walked up and let whom ever hug and kiss and touch his face; however, he had this look on his face that was priceless. It was that of I don't want to do this but I know I have to. It was the best ever. You could just see it in his eyes.<br /><br />We went to the beach and played in the water and beach and built sand castles and the kids loved finding shells and all sorts of things.<br /><br />It is way past my bed time now so I will get pics posted in a couple of days.derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-45180946008156471902010-02-04T11:47:00.003-06:002010-02-04T13:26:37.467-06:00Relay For LifeHey everybody!!<br /><br />I have embarked for the first time ever to be a team captain for the upcoming Relay For Life here in the San Antonio Northeast region. My team name is McRamos' and I am excited to do this. I'v wanted to do this for sometime and now it seemed right. I have been able to establish my team name and now I am reaching out in many ways to gain team members and donations. I am using my blog to keep everybody informed of the progress that is going on with the team and how, if anybody, that is not close by to donate to the cause.<br /><br />Here are some facts about what Relay for life is about.<br /><br />* Relay for Life is an opportunity for the raising of money for the American Cancer Society.<br /><br />* The mission of the American Cancer Society is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem.<br /><br />* The ACS is the largest private source of cancer research funding, donating $2.7 billion for cancer research since 1847 and funding 38 Nobel Prize Laureates.<br /><br />* In 1985, the first Relay for Life event was held and raised $27,000.<br /><br />* Since then more the $1.5 billion has been raised.<br /><br />So here is your opportunity to reach out and donate to the American Cancer Society through my team. Here is how it works.<br /><br />1. Go to the Relay for Life web site. <a href="http://www.relayforlife.org/northeastsanantoniotx">WWW.relayforlife.org/northeastsanantoniotx</a><br /><br />2. Click on DONATE<br /><br />3. Either click on SEARCH FOR PARICIPANT and type in DEREK RAMOS or<br />click on SEARCH FOR TEAM and type in McRamos'.<br /><br />4. If you choose to donate under my name you will see a picture that is obviously not me, I can't get the picture to change. click on DONATE.<br /><br />5. Follow the instructions to donate. If you do it through this web site there is a minimum of $10.00. If you prefer not to do it over the web site but you want to donate, I understand I don't like to do payments over the internet either. send me an email (<a href="mailto:derek.ramos@sbcglobal.net)%20">mailto:derek.ramos@sbcglobal.net)%20</a> and we can arrange some other way.<br /><br />6. If you want to donate to the team just choose the McRamos' and follow the same instructions.<br /><br />So there you go for those near and far. Please join me and my team in our efforts to raise money for the American Cancer Society. The blog will be updated with accomplishments and pictures as we make progress then look for a posting on the Relay for Life event in May.<br /><br />Thanks again.derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-70355615394848114782009-12-16T21:43:00.006-06:002009-12-19T11:04:35.659-06:00Merry Christmas<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_DtlXjl1-cFadMYdQzl-t6TebehOx70Fvapg1lw8Ja_HxXFaptqbaCQaWcLgTvWr8yN9aDslIUOxepEOD1AdDGpi5OKkU6Vp8A8il3eTojTsF8tQnT0vFK2RjHzWh9N_Iyrm7NlTc06Gu/s1600-h/ROTX_12-05-2009_0262_1.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 267px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5416046573882499858" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_DtlXjl1-cFadMYdQzl-t6TebehOx70Fvapg1lw8Ja_HxXFaptqbaCQaWcLgTvWr8yN9aDslIUOxepEOD1AdDGpi5OKkU6Vp8A8il3eTojTsF8tQnT0vFK2RjHzWh9N_Iyrm7NlTc06Gu/s400/ROTX_12-05-2009_0262_1.jpg" /></a><br /><p> </p><p>Well another year has gone by, crazy huh? Another year in San Antonio Tx. Not that we don't like it here, we just want to see what else is out there. We are still living on base, but we moved to another unit because of renovations. We like living on base , it is quiet and my commute to work is five mins and that is with the morning rush. So here is the updown on everyone for the year.</p><p>Marcus - Boy oh Boy oh Boy, is he ever a boy. He is a lot of fun even though it takes a little bribing to get him to change his underwear. He started the year off in pre-kinder and was having a good time. Right before Thanksgiving Emily decided to pull the kids out and home school them. I think he enjoys it more becasue hegets more of a challenge. Marcus has become the comedian in the family, you never know what is going to come out of his mouth and when it does it is hilarious. There was one time we were playing a game for family home evening that involved acting out animals. The animals that he came up with and acted out was the funniest thing ever. Marcus loves his hot wheels cars and monster trucks.</p><p>Annabella - We went through a rough year with her. There were things that we had to work through to help her behavior; however, now at the end of the year she has gotten much better and is much more enjoyable to be around. We are grateful that we were able find out what was going on and able to help her through it. It is an ever changing process and all we can say is "can't wait for the teenage years." Part of the problem was schoolso that is when Emily decided to try homeschooling and it has made a world of difference in a lot of ways. Before, she would be so shy and self conscious that she would not vounteer for anything. Now she was raising her hand in and wants to do talks in primary. It was been wonderful. Not where she needs to be totally but from where she was at a few months ago she has come a long way. Annabella has lost so many teeth this year I can't even keep count. She hates to lose her teeth, so bad that she freaks out completely. But when it is out she's all better. Crazy funny. Annabella loves her dolls and teddy bears and she has a great imagination when it comes to drawing and art. I think she is going to be an artsy fartsy girl.</p><p>Emily - Emily had a rough year with her health. The year started off with a couple of trips to the emergency room with pain in her chest. The ER docs said she was not dying so they sent her home and followed up with the military docs. They could not figure out what was going on and they poked and prodded and agter many specialists, nobody could figure out what was going on. It had gotten so bad that she could not function to take care of the kids even so that we had to have friends take the kids in the morning and after school till I got off of work and then I would have to come home and take care of everyting from dinner to laundry to everything. Not that I am complaining but that is how bad it had gotten with how she was feeling. We are eternally gratefull to all our friends that helped with watching the kids and meals. Thank you. After some time on doctor was able to get her on a med that took the pain away, but it never answered the question on what was causing the pain and still today we don't know, we just know that the pain is goine and life was getting somewhat back to normal. After our three week road trip to Washington her back and hip doctor called and said she is going to need minor back surgery. So she went in got it done and is slowly recovering from that. The doc was also able to give her a coupel of shots in the hip to correct some issures that had risen. So over all she is haning in there. She takes it day to day, some days she feels fine and others not so well. She takes it in strides. Other than the health issures that has really kept her from doing a lot she has really dedicated herself to helping Annabella through the issures she ahs been having and taking care of the rest of us. She such a great mom and wife, we are lucky to have her.</p><p>Derek - As for me, I am just going along taking care of Emily when she is not feeling well and the kids and so forth. Iam three classes away from finishing my degree in Homeland Security. I cannot wait till it is over. Work is going well I ahve been blessed with great leadershopa nd suprevisors to train me and mold me into a great Airman. I was also bless with a promotion, which comes if February. (Emily is writing now) We, Emily and the Kids, are grateful to have great husband and dad in our lives! Derek took an Airman Leadership course this summer and earned two out of three awards for academic achievement and leadership! He truly earned those awards!</p><p>Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. I hope everone has a great holiday season and a great new year.</p><p>Take care,</p><p>The Ramos' </p>derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-15869859474942023812009-11-02T20:56:00.002-06:002009-11-02T22:09:05.253-06:00Happy Halloween<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOJg-uoocSW_lYjh4tvdh26F9BmhglRIDXn_Lb9y9fx8z3Wrt2fjrNuyYkpBOwbPrvpJQ3B7om9o16PH6xUAdMvSJ8-r87wFcPafRc8Jdk4S-1H9CyC2lR2LvH2DU5K9HO0UJFjiaVBEII/s1600-h/DSC03736.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 300px; FLOAT: right; HEIGHT: 400px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5399708279846390514" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOJg-uoocSW_lYjh4tvdh26F9BmhglRIDXn_Lb9y9fx8z3Wrt2fjrNuyYkpBOwbPrvpJQ3B7om9o16PH6xUAdMvSJ8-r87wFcPafRc8Jdk4S-1H9CyC2lR2LvH2DU5K9HO0UJFjiaVBEII/s400/DSC03736.JPG" /></a><br /><div>Happy Halloween everybody! Here are some pics from our crazy busy Halloween day. The day started off with my 9-10 yrs old Flag Football game. Unfortunatually we lost, but that is another story, we then went to the kids fall festival. The kids had a blast. Shortly after the fall festival we headed to the church, as all crazy mormons do, and attended the Trunk O Treat. It was nice to some old faces that we havn't seen in awhile. Marcus dressed up as Optimus Prime and Annabella was some sort of butterfly princess fairy thing. The costums were made up of things around the house because we went to the store to pick out new costums and all we got was whining and crying, so we said "forget it, You want to be something for Halloween, than find something at home." That was that Hallween day the kids went up stairs got some old stuff and put together their costumes. Emily painted faces and all turned out good. Emily also came up with my costume (See below). It was funny everybody thought it was pretty darn funny. Emily didn't dress up, she was just happy to be able to go out. After the Trunk O Treat we went to houses here on base and this was our first time as a family we were able to go out and Trick O Treat together. One year Emily was recovering from surgery, the next year Annabella got the flu, then the nex year I was gone on military business and finally this year we got to go. It was a blast and I know we had so much fun. It was fun to see how much fun the kids were having. It was a moment that you want to keep forever. Anyways, Hope everyone was safe and had fun. See ya'll at Thanksgiving. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjWJV9RNIXnnvQ4VfDzXRH_QE_1AeKiBVj8SqlScltrcRBVOsskbs73Yqnu6gEGsRukGs9c_XrDqv4D4wMd66vU8Wzjd-zob-OWpRTI1jhYwiGSxfs32Xn2vddMuRUiFWp_6MWjJk-VwJXW/s1600-h/DSC03726.JPG"><img style="MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; Well here it is 25 Oct 2009 and I am writing my post. Let me tell you that it has been a wild and crazy few months scince getting back from our road trip. </div><br /><br /><div>To start, a few day after we got back Emily had a doctors appt for her hips and after getting test done for her back also we found out that she was going to need back surgery. Now the doctor offered to do less evasive surgury where he would go in with a needle to relieve the pressure that the disc were causing rather than opening her up and do in that way. We decided to do that, so a couple of days later she went into the hopital and had the procedure done that took a few hours. After a few weeks she was feeling better; however, was unable to really do anything that would cause the back to be injured, which means no lifting and working out and that kind of thing, which leads me into the next adventure.</div><br /><br /><div>A couple of weeks after Emily's surgurey we recieved a call from the base housing letting us know that we were going to have to move into a different unit on base. We knew that it was coming; however, we were told it was going to be in Oct when it was going to happen, but here it was Aug-Sept when it was going down. To add to the crazyness, we had decided awhile ago to move ourselves because we had the opportunity to make a few buck doing it our selves. We are close to paying off our all out debt so we figured this would help. Anyways, after Emily's surgury we realized that she was not going to be able to help pack or move, So I was going to have to do it by myself. Now we still had the opportuinity to have the Air Force move us, but we really could use the money so we went for it. I figured if we wanted to get out of debt I would have to work hard for it, and boy did I ever. It was not fun at all. So I took two weeks off and started to pack, I got a lot packed and Emily helped out where she could. Then came Wednesday night, I called the housing folks and asked them that we were for sure going to get the key tomarrow, she said, "yes, everything is in order." Than the next day at 4:00 in the after noon I recieved a phone call from the same lady, "I am sorry but the place is not going to be ready." ......................I had no idea what to say. Then she tells me that she wants to put us in a hotel for 5-6 days. I told her no. There was no way we were going to leave and stay in a hotel, I told her either she finds a new place that we can move into tomarrow or we are not moving. She called me back with another place. Whew!! thats's over, now comes the move. </div><br /><br /><div>Back ground information, it has not rained here in south Texas in over a year, well guess what it did the day that I was to move, RAINED. Unbelieveable, but I made it work. I got all the boxes and small things moved and then some folks from church came and helped me move the big items. Emily felt bad she couldn't help, but we needed her to get better. So it has taken us longer to get unpacked than packed. I hate moving and I will not do it myself anytime soon.</div><br /><br /><div>School started a couple of weeks later for the kids. Annabella is in the 1st grade and Marcus in Kindergarden. They are having fun, Annabella started off rough but she is getting better. She has seperation aniexty and other issues that we are work through. The kids are doing good though</div><br /><br /><div>My school is almost done, once finished with my current class I will have three classes left. So excited.</div><br /><br /><div>I am helping coach a flag football team. The kids are 9-10 years old. It is a blast I can't wait till next year when Marcus can play. We, the team, have won our first game and then came back and won our second game in a row. The kids are excited and are playing well together now and playing there parts. So much fun.</div><br /><div> </div><div>Now that the weather is cooling off we are looking forward to getting out and going on our adventures on Saturdays. Well I am off and here are some pictures from our trip to Washington.</div><div><br /><br /> </div><p align="left"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5396544261577033586" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCQRer8lfDq2SKK2qhKY-6C1aZApK5asllQZlMKIdMJi5zmhLYW4_KjD8K84chNy4qQxmhEfC5CuxqbB5prUTkRwV0_GdfPrsYnAkoQmhOgUf-mdRpsRX4ICqluGPeChMx3Nt8mPCIPIGQ/s200/DSC03042.JPG" /><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5396544264541666626" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgXKfYfxaHN-mwJldlQC8i1Et2Bp1WwuXLgaAj40v8EMYlENXYPxLZJ9-e6VIrWEYp_8FCiOf9wxfZf3uiJV_Eoykyw0qSMUnk2tVMTSwU2mCGJsDg_r_JEMjG2nRCFgQcUivF2fWF_mh42/s200/DSC03046.JPG" /></p><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div>derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-75776767466396419952009-07-04T21:35:00.002-05:002009-07-04T21:40:49.735-05:00Ready to goWell, not much to report, summer started just like for everybody else, and not much going on. We are preparing for the big summer vacation. Road Trip from San Antonio Tx to Seattle Wa. We have been preparing for this trip for a long time and we are only a week away. We are so excited for this, we need a huge break from Tx and life and just want to get away for a bit. So keep an eye out in Aug. or Sept (okay who am I fooling Oct or Nov) anyways I got some great ideas for movies and such so keep an eye out. <br /><br />Take care<br /><br />Ramos'derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-3150632491458420952009-05-25T07:50:00.002-05:002009-05-25T08:39:17.881-05:00Happy Memorial DayI just wanted to post a message about my service in the military. When I joined the Air Force 4 1/2 years ago, I did not join because I felt a duty to my country or because I wanted to serve. In fact I did not know much about the service. I knew that the military was fighting in Afghanistan in defense to the attacks of September 11th 2001. Iraq, I am not even going to go into that. I joined the Air Force because being married and having one kid and another on the way, I needed a way to support them. Only reason.<br /><br />As I look back on this memorial day I am have found a new appreation for the military and the men and women who serve. I can stand here today and say I am proud to serve, I love putting on my uniform. I know what my uniform stands for and I am proud to serve my country. I found a group of people unlike any other. The camaraderie between Airmen, Soldiers, and Sailors is increadable. The camaraderie that lies in units, to know that we will be there for each other no matter the situation is unforgettable.<br /><br />There are many from the past that are forgotten about that have fought for what we have today. From all the wars past men and women have served with great honor. Not every war was popular and some may not have been right; however, we must never forget the sacrifice that many have made for the cause of freedom.<br /><br /><div align="left">I have found another camaraderie that will not be found anywhere else, that is being a member of the church and being military. Going to church each sunday and sitting next to people who are in the same situation brings a feeling of camaraderie that supports each other no matter what. As Emily and I have experinced with a ward that steps up to help each other in times of need. For me knowing that where every I may end up because of the military I know I will have a ward there full of members who are military and are willing to help me if I need.</div><br />So, on this day as we go about our business, enjoying our day off I hope and prey that we may all find a spirit of appreation for the all voluntary military. Even though some of the things we are asked to do may not fit our position in life, it is the greater cause. It is the protection of our way of life, our freedoms, and our religion. To sum it up, I found a scripture in The Book of Mormon that explains what I have found and why I contine to serve in the Air Force:<br /><br /><div align="center">Alma 43:45-47</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">45 Nevertheless, the Nephites were inspired by a better cause, for they were not fighting for monarchy nor power but they were fighting for their homes and their liberties, their wives and their children, and their all, yea, for their rites of worship and their church.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">46 And they were doing that which they felt was the duty which they owed to their God; for the Lord had said unto them, and also unto their fathers, that: Inasmuch as yo are not guilty of the first offense, neither the second, ye shall not suffer yourselves to be slain by the hands of your enemies.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">47 And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall defend your families even unto bloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their religion.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Thank you to all who have served past and present.</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">Happy Memorial Day</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center"> </div>derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-9361785786436237382009-05-17T11:39:00.002-05:002009-05-18T07:31:19.346-05:00<div><div><div>Hey Everybody (where did mary g0)</div><br /><br /><div>Just a quick update on whats going on. Emily and I found out last week that 8 months ago Emily's doctor was notified by the Radiologist that she has a fracture in her hip; however, the doctor never followed up with Emily to even tell her that she has a fracture. NICE!!! Anyways, so the doctor she saw last week asked about it and we had no clue on what he was talking about so the doctor ordered a bone scan to see if the fracture was still there, which we believe it is, and to see how bad the arthritis is in her other hip. Emily has a follow up appt. on Wednesday to find out what is going on and what is going to be done to fix the issues. We hope for the best that all was found was a fracture and we can press on. Emily is hanging in there, but in a lot of pain. Not only in her hips but also her upper torrso, which they havn't been able to find out anything on that. We are hoping that the hip issues has just radiated up and if we get that fixed then that will take care of the other.</div><br /><br /><div>The kids are doing fine, there in a stage where they are picking on each other which in turns ends up on us, so that has been fun. School is almost out for the summer. </div><br /><br /><div>The new dog, Ruby, is great she is so much fun to have around. The kids love her. They are doing good on showing Ruby who is boss. Except when Ruby is playing and ends up bitting on the arm. We are trying to get the kids to tell her no bitting, but they just want to come to us.</div><br /><div></div><div>School is going, I am taking a English/Literature class, sucks greatly, Four essays in eight weeks. Ok for some of you folks our there your like "that super easy" but I hate writing essays with a passion and then on top of that I hate reading so for me it is a double whammy. Oh well I am just about half way done with that.</div><br /><div></div><div>Well that is about it, here are some pictures of my Airman Leadership Class. I walked away with the Acadimic and Leadership awards. Two out of Three not too shabby. A Picture of Annabella riding her bike that she is doing really good at. Emily and Ruby on one of our hikes and Marcus too.<br /><br /></div><p align="justify"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337137517212942162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaTSQDfXfFwPbdFon9CLAVpQpH_UyjPekI1oPV5BOlKlBLONTyu1dBH7RiF-NiD1ItcrkBSMeKcgEmRdbLlKsTAIO7O1dAAw9pmdEYQkGxttXTZ2s0ITSEhUz0fqeN2DJCdser4hJnWZKW/s200/DSC02730.JPG" border="0" /></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337138790049358626" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHIWs7HFbDKR5O6YWXXpx59Q6OBrjX_o7MP3fOdCNequzf_bhf2A2L1yWQKOIJwE2UaU0an0a-Jh71OKtxR461WcOg15w7O8KSYXaIxnOUy-JT6ETN7EzrKcYG4pc9xaDt2G_P5lHc6I7N/s200/DSC02814.JPG" border="0" /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337131687455104834" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiVycNn-tFKpkEx8hG_cy_UiKi4wvF3dJW2cDwgUFY9g0bH2cHCGEQLg9x0lOU7aUTk7IWgmuLIRhmnzXcL24ioUHl4kOt4BDdBNtnrXciyeurVcpYcFP_9o1g5_wQnjqmkMTEMO7fG7ypx/s200/DSC02758.JPG" border="0" /></div></div><br /><br /><p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5337139229292499506" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEickRxKCzu0pattns6BYikdoT8zzS-9g2coe6HxAqHQ4ayliOW9c9NCXK_JgP9BsazK5scy8Bx-KpM_lTRq36xeS9crFHeABq4uy0mZ-u7yWtLwUlQaEyTWGKmf2ySq6cZWa9VIAt1f1pN0/s200/DSC02826.JPG" border="0" /></p><p>Well, there you go, that is whats going on here. Give her a few days and some confidence she'll be fine. The problem is "RUBY" is 6 months old and a boxer which is a double wammy for being hyper and loves to play and jump on people. Annabella doesn't like that too much, but it'll come with time. The cats are just as freaked out, this will be intresting. Anyways she cute and we hope this will be good for the kids and the family.</div><br /><div>Update on Emily's health....Doctors still don't know what it is and there doesn't seem to be any end in sight. Emily has taken a new attitude towards it. She is going to control it instead of it controling her. </div><br /><div>Other than that here are some pictures of the Ruby, the new member to our family.</div><br /><br /><br /><div align="center"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321769913930600162" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgPQ2ZjGvSKsM6NxGmDp_pu-0NnZqIaR9kXL9O-3SQox8eQrsnPO8xoIV5MJOQ9MsGrT1Y_DveVuZC4suQSMDhmR-mtHs27yl3uu0Gio69HYZmY32gz78cX5ci8gzf28KGR9DLn5p69SzNS/s200/DSC02765.JPG" border="0" /></div></div><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321770966152104306" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVP-aOX3Dgq8x9YbUBvp1-_nMJd39UWWK8vNBVqKlWr6ts3fomCpvyQPzYcu_tmpU-eqci_NhfnMmw3Mj5PgYaD3WaBtfNSpTUea6dd3DD0VLKC5UJuuRrgxrnmdqqiderfKGPX_XUL_sH/s200/DSC02772.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><p></p><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321770972093018322" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhf7CQzJFceXOBqtRVReQCoVTwBTZS_bNAnt99QIx8ZUQ4ppy1HhA-Mh_c9xsKbrgj-b7yc6pDID3fWphgRRCd0SXMrH5nmYGwulWXJ0WSaWDsy1fUExpN0LCVDgePxpjrzByV5DRt5q9ay/s200/DSC02777.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321770975878551442" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhkV0i_2DjyQ6t1_bKttvhkzb3UZaYFLU4L_OSEuV-85Fnik40DlnGxBhV0cLzkSDAy2y3WOFWcsiCzDR-_IV8Pih6WAcc1j6MwKYkyuJVtKNFhl76gM12rW5gO7hstH6s9Qa8XjtOQJKE/s200/DSC02766.JPG" border="0" /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5321770980352337090" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg80EWrr3aJu5whmeIsyDLJWsQOz3svmPG8fKi6QiWuIIZdJm_5-ejsn6yk6QAwJWL_pOy1p9ySDQCj_ynweMXgEj2r8-hoS81TUYtXrJCnz5ERCHHpBbtycc06RbPtBO4FXFiwC_KWSLUy/s200/DSC02778.JPG" border="0" /><br /><p>Well take care all and remember it's almost Friday</p></div></div></div>derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-76307739462435353482009-03-28T12:39:00.005-05:002009-03-28T15:51:09.209-05:00<div align="center">Archived video, finally finished</div><div align="center">Hope you enjoy</div><div align="center"> </div><div align="center">P.S. She has had some issues with the docs to get her into a specialist to get it taken care of; however, she has finally seen the specialist and he is running a few more tests. Hopefully we will be able to find out exactly what is going on and get her fixed up and back to normal. We have wonderful friends who have taken upon themselves to watch Marcus during the day and Annabella once school gets out. Emily was having a hard time taking care of Marcus so these awsome frinds stepped up. With great gratitude in our hearts, Thank you. It has meant so much to us to not have to worry about Marcus during the day.<br /><br />That is really all that is going on around here. The kids have all of sudden discoverd that they can use a special method of torture on each other called "bugging" and "ignoring" and "tattle" These methods are being used and the skill there of is being refined to make the torture even better to use on each other. Driving us nuts. At this very moment they are playing very good, but give them about 2 to 5 min. and one will be coming to me to tattle, while the other is screaming "don't tattle on me." Oh the joys of being a parent.<br /><br />I am starting a leadership class this week. It is going to be for 6 weeks. I had to drop my school class because it is very important to do well in this leadership class. So after the leadership class I am going to have to make up for the class in order to finish at my projected date. Right now if all goes well I will be done with school about April of 2010. Can not wait.<br /><br />Well I am going to sign off now. I do not know if I am going to be able to have time or information to give in the next 6 weeks. I will give new news on Emily's Gall Bladder.<br /><br />Take care all,<br />Ramosderekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-49745695780392078402009-01-04T19:37:00.008-06:002009-01-04T22:15:15.672-06:00Good bye to 2008Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone.<br /><div><div><br /></div><div></div><div>Here is what happened these past few weeks. </div><div> </div><div> </div><div></div><div></div><div></div></div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287646685119753570" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8XUYbk_LwMkabfUd0vUTm8itVC2U0CDBIHTCVMMTIwkPBg1Lg3PJD8-nZw3MpBaSSTnWFFMKwryPWiv-FkgUeXBrqwAQqR3ro3ktQTJbRiY6vJhDahBb3anF_dNhA3pQ9Ks3A2zTQ_b4N/s200/DSC02308.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div>Christmas Eve we went over to the Scott family's house for an awsome dinner and a reinactment of the Nativity. Emily was Mary and I was Joseph. Annabella was the Angel and the Star. Marcus was one of the Sheperds. It was a really nice evening. Thank you Scott family.</div><br /><div></div><div>Christmas day we woke up and did the present thing. We didn't do a whole lot and it was nice. Santa brought one present for the whole family, and I think that by far it is the best present ever. He gave Nerf guns to all of us. We all love it. It is so much fun chasing each other and shooting each other with the Nurf ammo. By far we have a blast, and they makes a great Family Home Evening activity. Here is a great moment from one of our games. </div><br /><div><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287636703830870018" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgxMazZ-yBkoUaSIFXfA9ytuy5TwBTLbMbaUc1qkyGxlzBIvIcqEKK3eXRo8gKduElhdRhjFsC-K8CwiBzKo12gjW6rPD8SK3S3_SulqQfTeil8r0QOsLBKZu8N8ycIJr6RT9r6_Y93mnEw/s200/DSC02369.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div></div><div>That night we had our traditional open house for anyone who needed a place to go for Christmas. We make a dinner and who ever shows up, shows up. We started this after our first year here and this allows us military familys and anyone else who can't make it home for Christmas to have an extended family to spend Christmas with, so no one has to spend it by themselves. There were a few families that came over and we had a great time. It was nice.</div><br /><div></div><div>The next weekend was New Years, and Emily and I have never been big on celebrating. The kids went to bed at their normal time cause they are 4 and 5 and I did not want to deal with them the next day. So we bought The Dark Night and kicked back and relaxed. The New Year came and we crashed. Like I said not big party animals. On New Years day the kids and I watched the Rose Bowl Parade and then we watched a couple of Bowl games including the Rose Bowl. The kids were inthrowled with watching Football. In fact Annabella asked me while flipping threw the channels if we could watch the Dallas Vs. Eagles game. That was the best game ever to watch Dallas crash the way they did. Anyhow it has been kinda funny to see the kids so excited to watch football. Infact everytime a game is on they want to watch it and they have to know the name of the teams that are playing.</div><br /><div></div><div>Now for a funny story involving a football. Marcus got a new football for Christmas and we were out playing with it. Marcus liked what he saw on the College games and so he wanted me to throw it to him while he was running. I told him that we needed to practice catching just back and forth but he didn't want to hear it. So I threw it and it hit him in the legs, he picked it up and threw it back to me, which he has a pretty good arm for a 4 year old, and told me to wait. He then proceded to run out about 25 yards and said throw it dad. I yelled "Marcus, your too far, come closer." "No dad, throw it." What else was I supposed to do. I steped to throw and I thought to my self this is going to hit him in the face. I released the ball and watched it go. It all went slow motion after that, I watched the ball spiral through the air and as it came down I was all of the sudden on America's Funniest Video and Marcus was the star because the ball came down and smacked him right in the face. He fell down crying and I was laughing so hard I was crying as I ran up to him to comfort him. I was laughing because I called it and I could not believe it happened. After we got him calmed down and back out playing catch he asked me why I was laughing. I had no answer for him I just wished I had it on video. I was a classic AFV moment.</div><br /><div></div><div>Saturday we went to the Army All American Bowl. East Vs. West. It was fun. The kids loved it here are a couple of pictures from the Game.</div><br /><br /><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287637878801152578" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5kEuc1urLm0MsykhfaypOeT6jCd__7DRfxoS0Ta7QuOjjpgrwLMTMDnfDquNaL9e2WIp8TsVfTLBL0Ya7y_MscdoGZIhlT0-Xd7EQAlMmQZFO5w3fyNlHuIEEy98egzg3yf8WP8v05HK4/s200/DSC02355.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5287639240945901410" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZZWzp31oXawPY9Iegf-n7gMehEskTvwUKh88g7OGf2glW6GnuQ-3F_QBVttMwWNxFqxIhBJ-tDvcGIAicUdPeKylD3g6IK4kbA2k4cy0hdEj4p4U2cY86TEzgAQnWVDQXY2rv03ZL_Icx/s200/DSC02350.JPG" border="0" /></div><br /><div></div><br /><div>And now it is Sunday, and it is back to work and back to school for Annabella. She left Thusday and returned on Sunday. She loved the movie, infact she went twice in the same night the 7:40 show then the 10:40. Emily said she got home at like 2:00 a.m. So the kids and I had the weekend together. It was fun, we went to Pizza Hut for dinner, the park, the Urgent Care and Burger King. Oh urgent care you ask. When we were at the park Annabella, of course, triped over something and landed on the ground but landed with her arms out. She grabed her arm right away, cried and said "my arm hurts." As soon as I saw this, my first thought was "you have got to be kidding me" Oh great Emily is going to come home with Annabella in a cast. How classic is that, mom leaves, dad in charge, kid ends up with broken arm. We went to the bathroom and got her cleaned up and she said she was doing better. We went home and she sat on the couch with an ice pack on her arm and was watching some princess movie. She then went out to play, so I thought nothing more of it until she back in and said her arm still hurt. By now it was 3:00 in the afternoon, so now it was time to make a choice, go now and sit for hours and get home at a reasonable time, or have to go in at 8:00 p.m. and get home at who knows what time. So off we went, we ended up coming home with nothing wrong. Good stuff.<br /><br />Now I have Pink eye so they sent me home from work so I wouldn't spread it to anyone else and ruin there 4 day weekend which goes from Thrusday - Sunday. Sweet, I love 4 day weekends.<br />Emily and I are going to go see Twilight on Friday. This is finals week for one of my classes, always glad to get another class under the belt. Now the Holiday seasons is kicking off. Busy but quickly passing by. Crazy to see how fast time goes by without knowing it. Another year is coming to an end. Crazy. <br /><br />Anyways to all have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving.<br /><br />Ramosderekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-21829932803788795462008-11-12T18:51:00.002-06:002008-11-12T18:54:52.600-06:00Happy Anniversary !!!Emily and I celebrated our 7th anniversary on Monday 10 Nov 2008. We have been through many adventures. This is just a quick note. I am working on a project to post; however, I thought of it a few days before our anniversary and it is taking alot longer than anticipated. So once it is done I will post it.<br /><br />Take allderekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-63186712494089703212008-11-02T16:03:00.009-06:002008-11-02T17:12:15.201-06:00Chicken Treat !!<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264193418247102386" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVEmdganJIaB3bBCfLCjTC9IEDNpN0ePRZ1pWX-umK31aJ3Va9DprubkointFVoqQbz2fiwOSOGkUevP8HE-UZlioGq8wqIUd516zxL8t1MVSK_tjCPkGjf0GcdV7zwVaopGu3fTSo0-ir/s200/DSC02040.JPG" border="0" />That is was what Marcus said instead of Trick or Treat at the Trunk o' Treat. It was funny.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Alright here is the Halloween Story. 10:00 p.m. the night before Halloween Annabella wakes up saying that her tummy hurts, so I layed down with her, and she rolls over and pukes all over the place. She is up all night ralphing, so we had to make the horrible call to not let her go out that night. She was heart broken, and when we told her it was heart breaking as a parent to hear her cry "I want to go Trick O' Treating, Marcus gets to go" It sucked, but what can you do. This is what we did, I told her that Marcus and I were going to go out and get candy for her, and the next day we will do a Halloween thing. After hearing that she was ok with it. Marcus and I went to the church for Trunk O' Treat and we came home after that. I was going to take him around base to the houses, but I figured he was able to out anyways he'll be just fine not going out again when his sister didn't get to go at all. Marcus came home with candy and everyone was happy.<br /><br /><br />The next day was our bimonthly shopping trip to Costco and Wal-Mart, <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWhZEXyJHXzLNMgovvRNArkhFd8oFc4jjovWXQnT-MgbixaJLDwCXaowpb2nNWX8JOBTwIuFaNmaDMzuZ0LXqHCFSC92UzaOiimwlkgoTLdES4P-6nh1vCT6gL01YxSGDIrOOekkvOqixt/s1600-h/DSC02077.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264195715539141778" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWhZEXyJHXzLNMgovvRNArkhFd8oFc4jjovWXQnT-MgbixaJLDwCXaowpb2nNWX8JOBTwIuFaNmaDMzuZ0LXqHCFSC92UzaOiimwlkgoTLdES4P-6nh1vCT6gL01YxSGDIrOOekkvOqixt/s200/DSC02077.JPG" border="0" /></a>and for the Halloween make up day the kids wore their costumes to the stores. We got some good looks, but after explaining the situation everybody was sympothetic and wished the kids a Happy Halloween. Annabella was a Fairy and Marcus was a Transformer. I will be honest I was a bit embaressed at first out two kids running around the store with their costumes on like we thought Halloween was that day when in fact it was the day before; however, once I explained the story and we got the "Oh Poor thing" I was fine. Ok Ok I know I should of not have been embarresed but that is the way it goes. The kids loved it and everbody was happy. So here are the pictures of Pumkin Carvin, before and after pictures. Thanks to the wonderful hot weather that Texas produces. For those who don't know San Antonio doesn't get cool untill the end of November, for example today was 85 degrees. It's just not right. So enjoy.<br /><br /><br />One last comment, it is good to get back in touch with old friends. It has been a nice reunion.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgu7EHldJ_01m72hG39KSYn2S5vtl8wrhwACrj-C7cSJWCSW58nrhkNZHyMp15_1C4LHdt0c0V0Q8PYJ0pqUdux0WnnKEQbtXF7xcLkGKRgENueYMgrmqoCgX_OL9uJJ8qi9iO7uhBFUCy/s1600-h/DSC02062.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264193976537998514" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgu7EHldJ_01m72hG39KSYn2S5vtl8wrhwACrj-C7cSJWCSW58nrhkNZHyMp15_1C4LHdt0c0V0Q8PYJ0pqUdux0WnnKEQbtXF7xcLkGKRgENueYMgrmqoCgX_OL9uJJ8qi9iO7uhBFUCy/s200/DSC02062.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264194480704068050" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgkeETzEEbomZ-5rayYXEikvZmlcjSRHe4Edfnuee-o6RST3B64vMtRyaMeoPHNnByBEghEhyphenhyphenUY5c40qb-72krFGusg8GHF9Ukilg4MvMxxqlbou3z9i51ptps0oRWa9oPuZmPyl7WUUjJq/s200/DSC02073.JPG" border="0" /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPzFANQKo28FeBp-7XaL5CAynfTBBlJ99ClTbHip4xXHe5eol29U0ctLnnR7hKKQKDicBNMWShbgPahxYhMNDMRkc2ya7Vbqn6eLt-KNtvCnpRao6UUhPkyAAFgSIeeGNPk-hR7UmYU4XS/s1600-h/DSC02126.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264196453667542434" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPzFANQKo28FeBp-7XaL5CAynfTBBlJ99ClTbHip4xXHe5eol29U0ctLnnR7hKKQKDicBNMWShbgPahxYhMNDMRkc2ya7Vbqn6eLt-KNtvCnpRao6UUhPkyAAFgSIeeGNPk-hR7UmYU4XS/s200/DSC02126.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB0HoMtppzF4XUWuUuDD_3LCUqXl5yBuRimnuFCdXIr6m4K7GT6oVRBONmRI-Ja-uV3IGNfI9SnfVbcVxL374Sszg_Ob5Y7gX5pWwla_zuZYoPpWtLT80nmmVcir3gimEFJPDohInxtnRx/s1600-h/DSC02133.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5264196974382158674" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB0HoMtppzF4XUWuUuDD_3LCUqXl5yBuRimnuFCdXIr6m4K7GT6oVRBONmRI-Ja-uV3IGNfI9SnfVbcVxL374Sszg_Ob5Y7gX5pWwla_zuZYoPpWtLT80nmmVcir3gimEFJPDohInxtnRx/s200/DSC02133.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB0HoMtppzF4XUWuUuDD_3LCUqXl5yBuRimnuFCdXIr6m4K7GT6oVRBONmRI-Ja-uV3IGNfI9SnfVbcVxL374Sszg_Ob5Y7gX5pWwla_zuZYoPpWtLT80nmmVcir3gimEFJPDohInxtnRx/s1600-h/DSC02133.JPG"></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><p><br /><br /><br /> </p><p> </p><p>Yummy!! Let me know if you can see it.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Happy Birthday Marcus. We celebrated Marcus' 4th birthday today. It is acutally on Tuesday, but it'll be much easier to do it today after church when we have plenty of time. Anyways Marcus all of a sudden loves to watch Transformers. He has his Transformer underware that he loves but he saw the original, and the best, Transformers cartoon on Utube and he loves it. So we were able to find a Transformers DVD, not the original, but it'll do. I know I am able to find all of the originals online, so maybe that that'll be a Christmas present sometime.<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC6ZqeyXfQT_xUIpvx1_JwYv6YW4nDwWk4ApZMmif_9m6jY9eOmqPMkDXP9yLWkHT_kZrmIDpWBD2K2iYuPYFLRGWYZs-a0nCiBwLO00tWniPnHxR8sAlyB0vk29jc-MiUANDZiqOoAJVI/s1600-h/DSC02027.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259033881863454690" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiC6ZqeyXfQT_xUIpvx1_JwYv6YW4nDwWk4ApZMmif_9m6jY9eOmqPMkDXP9yLWkHT_kZrmIDpWBD2K2iYuPYFLRGWYZs-a0nCiBwLO00tWniPnHxR8sAlyB0vk29jc-MiUANDZiqOoAJVI/s200/DSC02027.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><p>This will do for now. He was so excited to get this movie. Marcus chose a chocolate cake with a sprinkle frosting. He had a couple of choices and he thought that the sprinkle cake with sprinkle frosting would be too boring. Huh? Go figure. We had a fun time! We got a family picture while we were at it. Ok, for those who don't know Marcus has a milk/dairy allergy, just like his dad when he was a kid, and so we have been trying so hard to make sure he dosn't have milk/dairy. Marcus and Annabella have become aware of the situation and make sure what ever we give him doesn't have milk in it. Cool. Oh the allergy would make Marcus very tempermental. When I mean tempermental I mean he would rather take the punishment then do what we asked him. When he took the punishment he would look at me with a look that said "is that all you got." Kinda of that Rocky Balboa look after he was pumbled by Clubber Lang, but then got up and said "is that all you got." Then Marcus would still not do what he was asked to do, and again got the punishment and the cycle would go on, until I couldn't do it anymore. At this point I knew I was in troble when he is a teenager, and great fear entered my heart and I think at that point I was truly scared for Marcus. If he is like this now, I could only imagine what it is going to be like later. Not the kind of thoughts a parent wants to have about their kids. All the "what if " came to my mind and I needed to figure something out. Long story short I was asking my mom if I did the same thing when I was a kid hoping that it was cause I turned out all right, though some people in my presence would beg to differ, any how as I was explaining all this it popped into my head "what if Marcus is having an allergy to the milk?" Cause my reaction would also cause me to become grumpy and so what if Marcus is having the same issue just way worse than what I had. So, Emily and I removed Milk and eventually all dairy products from his system and He is doing great. For the most part you ask him to do something and he says "yes" and off he goes to accomplish what ever. Alot of fear and stress was taken off our shoulders. Luckly for Marcus there is Soy Milk and other non dairy products that he can have in place of. Me, I had Orange Juice on my ceral and later had this nasty powder milk. No fault to my parents they were using what was avalible to them. That I am grateful cause I have a great story that everybody gets grossed out about. So an even longer story longer, Marcus and Annabella had a Primary Program Practice on Saturday and so Emily and I dropped them off and took off to Costco to go shopping by ourselves for the first time sence having kids, it was awsome, and when we got back there was Marcus chowing down on Pizza, covered in Cheese !!!! Oh Crap we said to each other. "Ok we know how to handle this and we know what is going to happen we just need to have patients and send him to bed as soon as posible" Lucky for us he did not have a reaction and he was quite pleasent for the remander for the day. Nice. So the next day was the program and it went well. Annabella had a speaking part and she bailed out at the last minute, for those who don't know Annabella, deathly shy and hate to be in front of groups or crowds nontheless, so that was not a big surprise. After the program the kids went to primary and Emily and I ended up talking to one of the leaders outside of the classroom and she said that the kids were having Ice Cream Sundays for what ever reason cause that's all the we heard was Marcus is eating Ice Cream. "Oh Crap" we went inside and sure enough there is Marcus eating Ice Cream. We went in and Emily asked Marcus if he was eating Ice Cream, hoping it would jog his memory that he was allergic and we just had this talk about not eating these certain foods. His reply, "This has no milk in it." all we could do was laugh. It was funny. Well we weren't so lucky tonight, at dinner he had to finish what was on his plate before we could do his birthday, that is when Diablo (the devil) showed his ugly face. All we could do was laugh. He did eventully finish his meal and the rest of the night went well, so it was not as bad as it could be, but there was definitaly a difference his his whole being. Crazy.<br /><br />Whew !! That was a story hope it was good. Next up is Emily's birthday. The kids and I did a cake and presents for her. Nothing big. The kids decorated the cake with those little beads of sugar that roll everywhere. Mental note never use those again they hurt to step on and they go everywhere. This is how the cake started<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk8Qz6c-WAr4uKSiwznMnmCOrrOfsC93mzm5xm6TQfQ5DUWJksZXugBA-WDTGB5_Etke-U_a-b83_bVDWcdYYb0hfzBt5RTNyHvdAwgmba2CRUowf53jaIRR5rNLvLgMiVX8rUZkNeQ8Bs/s1600-h/DSC01935.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259050934812654482" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhk8Qz6c-WAr4uKSiwznMnmCOrrOfsC93mzm5xm6TQfQ5DUWJksZXugBA-WDTGB5_Etke-U_a-b83_bVDWcdYYb0hfzBt5RTNyHvdAwgmba2CRUowf53jaIRR5rNLvLgMiVX8rUZkNeQ8Bs/s200/DSC01935.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br />and this is how the caked ended.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvidZgRHnb1RpIE2qBS7nseequ792GRoQbrZF0nd4XwhQX46mW6nQ1EFyVI9jJ_85DuJFLQjDQ8XGs3URKapeJy11ZbLS_XkFhaqKEhuycrGyxQ92wKyBxVd3yq399aKRiBMPhlnvWYNcY/s1600-h/DSC01956.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5259048858476792962" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvidZgRHnb1RpIE2qBS7nseequ792GRoQbrZF0nd4XwhQX46mW6nQ1EFyVI9jJ_85DuJFLQjDQ8XGs3URKapeJy11ZbLS_XkFhaqKEhuycrGyxQ92wKyBxVd3yq399aKRiBMPhlnvWYNcY/s200/DSC01956.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br />And as you can see it ended on us. We decided to tour the old missions that was established back in the 1700's by the conquering Spainards. There are a total of 5 missions and we visited two of them. We started with Mission Espada, here are some tourist photo opts!<br /><br /><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257162415724352994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNL8Mue9XBPkG8j6PXQMBiiWl-BOISkTkuBFL4sT-ZQ8pqWbf1LewdOzpZ5wHOvHrCqTDjym32C5NQU7wt9UMf9obnffzjo8yhojAgE5MVrJtXonuUeHf2jFg_B2PnbaZfK4Kw4jBU71-Q/s200/DSC01859.JPG" border="0" /></div><br /><div>This is a church that was astablished in 1690 by the Archdiacies and is still in use today!<br /><br /></div><div></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSpiUr_0elmrvFP1n27fia7IFFyBx094JYvenKrPC-jh7-CGlIZYcKw5pCIAf0ORMEu78dvYA07B5GutPRBogBM5LC6ycJMai7h7T5k6yjLwoeAucm7BE6fiLPpYhG9b6YcKHEcrosgkLN/s1600-h/DSC01881.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257164109849898482" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSpiUr_0elmrvFP1n27fia7IFFyBx094JYvenKrPC-jh7-CGlIZYcKw5pCIAf0ORMEu78dvYA07B5GutPRBogBM5LC6ycJMai7h7T5k6yjLwoeAucm7BE6fiLPpYhG9b6YcKHEcrosgkLN/s200/DSC01881.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257164614176378130" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-dzF1Lt_BHbWtQEnBtiShSPJ6P_oc6Rg8X0KdX9LmowuD3GpCPDxzIKJjEXLVHlYIez85cJ4CkUlt08u1IBQXrNQKxz4Wnm5cEupKemUAADaDT1VZibiu7G43wuhRp_ns0N2-aMJs_wfn/s200/DSC01910.JPG" border="0" /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUCKBGNl_TxmaEnxnH8UyipSvuBozbGjoINAVNAbcWLBLMeUz8X8ycYuLlFuNYbtzQzHREI1O0-BahvgOivXbGSPJwyueF4Jd4QjD5rKAFVGlSjYifWXKCCKIbHJMXpYEUc0RUrjyO_Ay7/s1600-h/DSC01898.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257166051396464594" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUCKBGNl_TxmaEnxnH8UyipSvuBozbGjoINAVNAbcWLBLMeUz8X8ycYuLlFuNYbtzQzHREI1O0-BahvgOivXbGSPJwyueF4Jd4QjD5rKAFVGlSjYifWXKCCKIbHJMXpYEUc0RUrjyO_Ay7/s200/DSC01898.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggl3-AdK6BU3gKeiMh_twYFbP1KJOpwxDnKr3fWhzq-j_Z01sPzBmgh77cBO_EIi49-vL5fOBs5Gp8vX2r-ggaHTh0FNV_9I6eS5O8nRh-EwinGvHifTEJNvC668N_dOcJHuJNroVY_hWk/s1600-h/DSC01911.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257165226875089874" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggl3-AdK6BU3gKeiMh_twYFbP1KJOpwxDnKr3fWhzq-j_Z01sPzBmgh77cBO_EIi49-vL5fOBs5Gp8vX2r-ggaHTh0FNV_9I6eS5O8nRh-EwinGvHifTEJNvC668N_dOcJHuJNroVY_hWk/s200/DSC01911.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div><br /><div>Anyways we had a great time getting out and enjoying being outside. Not a whole lot is going on around here. Annabella is doing better at school now that Emily drives her to school. Marcus is Marcus and he is a boy. Gotta love it. He finally decided on a Halloween costume and now he wants to wear it all the time, or at least asking if it is Halloween yet. Emily is doing better from the recovery of having her tonsils taken out. She has issues of food getting caught in the holes that were left behind but she deals with it. I finished another class and started another and start another in November. I will be so happy once school is done, tired so tired. </div><div></div><div> </div><div>.</div><div>Phil and Vicki (Derek's parents) came to visit over the extended weekend and we had a good time. We drove up to Ft. Hood in the Suburban to visit old stomping grounds for my parents. We saw the first house that my parents bought, the same house that I came home to from the hospital. Kinda of cool, though I don't remember any of it. The town of Kileen, don't get me started, I felt pretty safe there, ok from in side the car with the windows up and the doors locked. Scary place. Not a place that I will aspire to visit again. When I was a kid I always said I would go back and see Texas the birthplace of me. I have been here, I have seen what I have seen and now I am ready to go.</div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div> </div><div>.</div><div>While my dad was we attempted to replace the rotors on our Nissan Xterra. I was really excited to work on the car and replace the rotors myself. First time for me to replace the rotors, not only that the Nissan dealership wanted to charge me $700.00 to do it. I thought to my self I can do it for pennies on the dollar, so I did my homework and yep sure enough I felt that I had enough mechanic experiance to do the job. Two rotors = $50.00, brakes = $25.00 vs. $700.00. So my dad and I went to the shop on base where they have car lifts to use and we lifted the car and pulled off the wheels and calipers only to find out that you have to have a special tool to take of the the hub that keeps the rotors in place. AAAAAGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!! My buddy Dave talked about sticking it to the man, well the man stuck it to me. I went to a few other cars in the shop to check out how most Rotors come off and man that tweeked me even more; however, I guess that is how they, the man, make money. From that point on I made a personal vow to do my best to not buy new vehicles that if I cant work on my self, or at least simple tasks such as changing a rotor, then I don't want it. To me no fancy car is worth having if I can't work on it myself. I miss the VW Bus that Emily had and that is what I am going to shoot for. I Want a Bus again. I know I can work on that myself, thanks to the teachings of Mike (Emily's Dad). Anyways there you go. </div><div></div><div>Take care all.</div><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>derekhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15214025575311773410noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8794621293965906400.post-48177745589720114742008-08-26T21:15:00.015-05:002008-08-29T19:20:33.924-05:00Hey EverybodyWell it's been, I don't know, too long. Anyways, Emily had her tonsils taken out about three weeks ago and she says it sucks. After the surgury I took a look at the back of her throat and it looked like the doctor took a melon baller and scooped out the tonsils and the holes were black. It was really gross. So she has not been able to eat and barly drink anything for two and half weeks and tonight she was able to eat a Burger King hamburger. I think she was so hungry that she was going to tough it out and eat the burger. <div><div><div><div><div><br /><div><div><div>School has started for Annabella. She is now in Kindergarden. CRAZY !!! Our little girl is riding the bus to school and is gone all day all week. She says she has fun. Marcus' pre-school starts after labor day. Emily is teaching the preschool here at home with a couple of other kids. So, he is excited for that.</div><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239775414863305922" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg0eh_n25_8yjYEDofKLNHXXcpaPWRBsTaqUIcAnbsnEK0u3YmIkiFP_Kj5g3x1orC8qyl8AkSi5AEDoRNfjg1ha5umjgfc54lkk4t3gOZt5rvlxrcDEAqmGQGmrEBVGS7lCndr_X1DREB/s200/DSC01800.JPG" border="0" /><br /><div>My school is going good, I am plugging along. I found out this past week that I did not make promotion and on top of that I missed it by .2 points. That sucked, but we know it did not happen for a reason. So we'll just keep going.</div><br /><div>It has been a hot summer, we spent many days at the pool here on base, and that was really awsome. The kids took swimming lessons and have become really good but hillarious swimmers. </div><br /><div>Doing some catching up Emily and I had the opportunity to go out with the Young Women for the Girls Camp 4th year hike. It was fun, we went to a state park called Enchanted Rock state park. Now for those back west in Utah and Washington and other westerly states, this is not a impressive site to see; however, for Texas folks this is a Mountain. Anyways, the girls hiked to the top and myself and a few other guys went and set up rock climbing and repelling. It was awsome, I did not get to as much as I wanted to, it was about the girls; however, Emily and I did get to go at the end and it was my first time to do this. So I walked out to the edge and took a deep breath and went, it was crazy. Then one of the other guys there, more experianced, hooked into the harnest to go face forward. It was an opportunity of a life time, and I took it. Here is the pictures. </div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239024350572491698" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgQJZ9v1BiNyavvjpQI6OedZ2seYJV0vyGDwotW8g8ndODt_mRshqdSmdIy8CyXbWhFZyxCcwifd8JTBFIUKGX6NGvUOVN5Cg2Q91oczhkRKUw5wC23pl_GzIUafvkrjYy_r8RkeYJ4hKJF/s200/DSC01612.JPG" border="0" /></div><div></div><div>And here is the Mountain, don't keep your hopes up.</div><br /><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239027032956806274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYo1V60BTHiDfwfj2M1L9TBxZcAIlrkGdhVvwJRZ41uJCaCcw7d1E8cZRgMA7PmAywPAI_pD11mcNBOOPXph8TpLX-eO_rYNLkwJeCWq7_yOH8WSrQuEY0ut6_025VAfcVsvQlk7Z48v4f/s200/DSC01175.JPG" border="0" /></div></div></div><div>The next pictures are from our annual trip to the coast. This is in Port Arnasas Tx. past Corpus Cristi. We love going there, and the kids absolutly go crazy going to the beach. They love the water, waves and sand. Now the pictures you are going to see are true and real. The beach is not a paridise beach with long white crystal clear water. In fact it is murky and off in the distance you can see off shore oil rigs. That was different; however, if you don't pay attention to it is a cool place to visit, and at least we get a chance to go play at a warm water beach. Some people don't even get to do that.</div><div></div><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoVil7oMw34ecAiIk2UnyE59NvimIlOpsG0Q7pwqb2CAxCsLxOv0IuNTgbw9KTFr9Q78rGNXUj0eYiINrqMOjxwff9r2fE1-XfWKT-JTmvVrthOpf5e7bkA5PNKwdR3FtxjYvb5XxUBPbI/s1600-h/DSC01722.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239769728876777394" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoVil7oMw34ecAiIk2UnyE59NvimIlOpsG0Q7pwqb2CAxCsLxOv0IuNTgbw9KTFr9Q78rGNXUj0eYiINrqMOjxwff9r2fE1-XfWKT-JTmvVrthOpf5e7bkA5PNKwdR3FtxjYvb5XxUBPbI/s200/DSC01722.JPG" border="0" /></a> </div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239770382479694066" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD7t-2bDIx09dQ16N3tPfRbuFdm3ajKDpE9PCUPDbsTGR3vacZnu72Ntz_uf448FvffLtUwr71mcFfctNN6ZPHnF7KcqwXteTJB4mPtfNHaB49VRGP1m3-qVpiVFDTppPnQ_zlTjj_BHZw/s200/DSC01723.JPG" border="0" /></div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><br /><div></div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvcKb6GkWL6gCkx20WhcXCP9a8rx7ltLvX83VujSk6haQMoBOXYhUDJFsOuwA6FOzP3dtuSw3JhDaRzVzmtuk8w8E0tBFzfKal78UxO8bAfa6sv3P76CDxO60CmtHInwsZFjMF1BSw3vG7/s1600-h/DSC01733.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239771503971288418" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvcKb6GkWL6gCkx20WhcXCP9a8rx7ltLvX83VujSk6haQMoBOXYhUDJFsOuwA6FOzP3dtuSw3JhDaRzVzmtuk8w8E0tBFzfKal78UxO8bAfa6sv3P76CDxO60CmtHInwsZFjMF1BSw3vG7/s200/DSC01733.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><p></p><div><br /><br /><br /></div><p>Oh yea the seaweed, the kids loved throwing that around and at each other, I did not like it so much, it felt gross aginst the legs as it washed in and out. </p><p>Up next is our annual trip to Seaworld. One of the perks of the military is that we get go in for free once a year. Thank you Anheuser-Busch for supporting the troops. The kids had a blast, and it was even better this year because Marcus was tall enough to be able to go on the same rides as Annabella, so they were both excited to be able to go together. Proud parent moment when Annabella took Marcus' hand and led him on the roller coaster and showed him what to do. It was awsome.<br /></p><p></p><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp5zIXvk3kIeCWP2VzWo27MZgZ2GX9ceA4lw7oIrgoseDsMkaJqRoWKV_dZlL-EIolT6X6rR1FbgiQhNgdh_crCruWrBRKN09NPGqgKQreiWVzhGnxbEBdIJ65NIFKIx64Uj4ENLoq5r3h/s1600-h/DSC01637.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239767301432933362" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjp5zIXvk3kIeCWP2VzWo27MZgZ2GX9ceA4lw7oIrgoseDsMkaJqRoWKV_dZlL-EIolT6X6rR1FbgiQhNgdh_crCruWrBRKN09NPGqgKQreiWVzhGnxbEBdIJ65NIFKIx64Uj4ENLoq5r3h/s200/DSC01637.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju79B3dT3fo7qofpAUeFVY3PQ3M4iyoSn6RABfrW2nZRLszFnQ8Qs959tgXMhvEJW5SNnoeWO5kIZ7TAOiiNLcuYlhSqVikFaSary2WCB5fo5fAhFVfm_N5ruIia1lg7e_k-Jss2R_iDmE/s1600-h/DSC01658.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5239768038399583778" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju79B3dT3fo7qofpAUeFVY3PQ3M4iyoSn6RABfrW2nZRLszFnQ8Qs959tgXMhvEJW5SNnoeWO5kIZ7TAOiiNLcuYlhSqVikFaSary2WCB5fo5fAhFVfm_N5ruIia1lg7e_k-Jss2R_iDmE/s200/DSC01658.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /></div><p></p><div><br /><br /><br /><br />Well, that is that, it has been a fun summer and now we will move on to the winter time, not that there is much of one here in Southern Texas.
