Out and about 16 Feb 2008

Not a whole lot happened this past few weeks. My daughter did get an ear infection Sat. morning at 2:00. Figures, so she was up I was up so we went in to the ER to get her taken care of. Yes, that does seem kinda of silly to go in to the ER for an ear ache; however, lessons from the past have shown that she would of been fine all day Sat. and then after a few hours of sleep she would have woken up again and that would be two nights of not getting sleep, so to avoid that struggle I took her in. When we got to the ER there was really no one there and so we got seen in no time. My daughter fought with everything the DR wanted her to do, such as weight, temp, which she almost had to get it done up the back side, but when she realized what was about to happen she opened her mouth willingly. That was kinda funny. Anyhow, Doc said it was an ear infection and she was going to get a hand writen script for some meds. What seemed like forever for the nurse to bring me the scripts, come to find out the wrong name was on the script, they put fredrick as her name. So, I had to send it back. We got home about 6:00 a.m. and it was a long rest of the weekend trying to play catch up with sleep. Anyways other then that this week has been quite.

Ok, if there is one thing I take away from working in the pharmacy is to double check hand writen scripts to make sure all the information is correct, from: name (very important cause we wouldn't fill it if then name was wrong) drug, make sure the drug is the one the doc said they were going to give you. Instructions, are clear and readable, Last but just as important make sure the script is sighned by the doc. No pharmacy is going to fill a script that does not have these things filled out. I am so glad that I knew this because had I not I would have gone to the pharmacy and they would have turned me away, and then I would have been mad. Anyways, off my soap box.

Here is some pictures of one of our adventures. There is a park that is not to far from the base were we can do some hiking. Commanchee park is a cool place to go with the kids, because it has different levels. The kids love the most difficult trails cause they get to rock climb. Anyways here you go enjoy.

some tower that we have no idea why it is there

Seattle Trip

The four of us went home to Seattle in Jan. We had a great time. We were able to see family and we were able to take the kids to Snoqualmie Pass and play in the snow. They loved it. This was the first time that I ( Derek ) been home in three years. I was able to see the two new members of the family whom I had never met. Kind of crazy is that the kids were a couple of years old so for everyone else they were normal where for me it was all new. It was good to back to Washington and see family and be in Washington. We miss the environment. Trees that were taller then houses and mountains let me tell you about mountains. They were awsome. The day we left Texas it was 80 and when we got back it was 80. Mind you this is in January. This weather is not right. Washington, it rained the whole time and we saw the sun just a few times. I loved it. Now in Feb. we have the A/C on. Not right. Anyways, we were able to see Scott and Jewel Milam and go out to dinner with them. Azteca, yea!! Kinda of funny we prefer Azteca over any mexican joint in Texas. Well this trip was awsome but now we are back in the grind of life.

Emily is running like crazy with her calling in church. She is preparing to go to girls camp in the summer and is charge of a bunch of stuff, so she is doing that and as a secretary to the relief society she has papers and projects galore. Oh ya, did I mention she is a teachers aid at the pre-school our kids go to. She does this to bring in money to help pay off debt. Ya so she is on the go all the time.

Marcus and Annabella are crazy. They are doing good with school and living. We got two cats and Marcus thinks it is ok to pull their tails. Oh well he'll learn if it has to be the hard way. Other then that the kids are doing great. I think we are going to try to put them in a tumbling class. Which will be good for Marcus, he has so much energy and sometimes he does not know how to release all of it and that is when he hits his sister and then he gets in trouble and it goes down hill from there. So hopfully this will channel his energy.

I am currently in school, still, oh well, I am studying the field of Homeland Security. I am not sure what I am going to do with this degree, but I am toying with a few ideas. To this day I am taking a few months off of school so I can study for promotion in May, then it will back to school. Work is going well, I am a pharmacy tech in the US Air Force. Other then that I am going one day at a time to get to Friday.

Here is a video I put together from our trip to Washington, hope you enjoy.
Peace for now and remember it's almost Friday.
